The first Saturday night of 2009 in Newcastle was a quiet one. The usual bars, Baby Lynch’s, Floritas, 1. Grey Street were all pretty quiet, more so than usual. The Lodge was also quiet, it is usually very busy in there despite it being a poor bar. There were no queues in sight in the ever popular Revolution, but had a few people in. What a shame for Perdu, which was quiet. I guess they must have turned one too many people away
Will the bars survive the credit crunch? The Sports Cafe has already closed down near the end of last year. Will there be any others biting the dust?
