I was out last week with a few people and since we get sick of going to the same old places from time to time we decided to mix it up and hit some of the charva bars.
We went into Popworld, located next to Blu Bambu, which i havent been in since a bank holiday…What a Shithole!!! The music was terrible! I was expecting some 90s dance songs aka The Real Mccoy, Livin Joy and so on, which would of been fun; Instead it was some kind of terrible comedy/trash pop, sort of like pikie irish pop, it is really hard to explain.
And the crowd…WOW! It really was like stepping into another world. There was a mix of what you would expect, very young and very old. But all wearing the same things, which was chequed shirts and so on…I thought the bar was supposed to be a 90s theme place, but the people in the place actually thought it was still the 90s.
I wouldnt go back, for a charva place this is scraping the bottom. Boom which is further up the town towards the Gate is a far better place to go, with better music and a better crowd (for a charva place) or Mushroom; But amazingly Popworld was so busy, you couldnt get moved in the place.

i have been into this bar before and often go in every weekend,i am not a chava im a 36 year old bloke,from reading the comments above surely the name of the bar says it all.its not a 70s or 80s or 90s bar its all of them including chart.
i would love to know tho what is pikie music lol (only thing i can think of is when you went in then there must have been a group of irish people in at the time and the dj was playing for that crowd) what a dj is supposed to do most djs play for themselves thats why its so busy in popworld.
also comments about trashy pop and comedy pop? duh its popworld not clubworld. what the hell do you expect the dj to play from when ive been in a few times he plays cheesy pop,rnb and upto date chart .sounds to me like the above comments the publisher is so stuck in his little world from going to upmarket bars like tiger tiger and paying expensive prices for drinks and being surrounded by wannabies or lasses that just so stuck up toffy noses and the lads are worse should live a little and come back for more. i did as i was sick of going to crappy bars like tiger tiger and blu bambou etc so going there and enjoying the music and atmosphere was a safe place to be.
go to places like idols,bar 24 etc thats chav heaven
the reason popworld was so busy due to freindly atmosphere and people actually letting there hair down and having a good time.
