The bar of the month for July has to be the bar which is no more. The Cooperage has closed its doors because of complaints of noise and the council insists it will not open again until the building is soundproofed.

The Cooperage dates back to the 13th century and is one of the oldest buildings in Newcastle city centre. It is located on Newcastle quayside and was a pub, bar and nightclub opening all day serving food until late where you could party the night away.

Over the years The Cooperage had many nights on, including a Latino night which was very popular aswell as more traditional nightclub style nights.

With prices for entry and drinks reasonable and a good atmosphere The Cooperage will be missed on Newcastle Quayside.
