Liquid Envy

Liquid Envy Newcastle with sensible dress code

For the summer, Liquid Envy have a new summer dress code, which is more relaxed letting in customers wearing white and smart trainers. This makes sense, you can have a pair of nice smart trainers which look good, so why ban them from a nightclub? Well done to Liquid Envy for this move, still not letting people in with tatoos though, but its a start :)

Diversity a Disappointment at Liquid Envy Newcastle

Diversity were branded a ‘Disappointment’ by at least one person who paid for VIP Tickets and received anything but VIP treatment.

“I bought a VIP ticket which turned out to be a disappointment. First of all, we were rushed in and out. The ticket clearly said we could get autographs and photos but we only had time to get one group photo then we were sent out, no time for autographs or a chat with them or anything we were literally in there for about 20-30 seconds, enough time to get a group photo and leave”

“Infact, my friend even created a new name for the “meet and greet”, instead she calls it “yo and go” because thats literally what it was. The photo was tiny – keyring size! It had me and 4 of my friends on it with Diversity, not even a separate one for each of us!!The staff were very rude and kept shouting in our faces bearing in mind they are men and we are young teenage girls. I noticed one man shouting very aggressively right in a young girls face because she couldn’t move back. That was not her fault it was the people behind her!!!!! I am very disappointed with the VIP ticket I bought and I feel as though it was a waste of money because all the things we were promised did not happen.”

“Also, the ticket said we would have access to the VIP lounge afterwards, we didn’t. I was looking forward to a good night with Diversity, getting autographs and plenty of photos and a chat with them all but that did not happen.”

I have to feel sorry for this person and anyone else who attended.  They have paid for something and have not got the experience which was advertised. I would complain to Liquid Envy and ask for a refund, as their VIP treatment seems to be anything but that.

I know from going to Liquid Envy on other nights and hearing other stories about their staff that the night may not go as you may expect, its not the most friendly place, with complaints such as:

“no offence like but this club tret me like shit on my hen night was supposed to be on guestlist but i was aperntly 10 mins late the doormen are arseholes wudnt let sum1 in for a tattoo…most people i kno hav tattoos wot utter pricks…il never be goin bak ther its crap!”

Go to Liquid Envy, for a night you wont forget.

Bouncers and Door staff in Newcastle Bars

bouncers

Some things i get asked in emails from people outside Newcastle visiting is the bar policies and door staff aka bouncers aka door supervisors aka the people who will spoil your night for no reason.

Some, probably most door staff and bar policies are fine, if you are used to the bars and know the types they are e.g. dress codes then you probably wont have many problems. Some on the other hand are a different story.  Getting into a place depends on many things, some bars are just twats, some wont let groups in, some are more funny if you are drunk or if you are young.

Some of the things bouncers have said to the visitors here, me or my friends are:

“Sorry not the night lads” -why? (no response)

“I cant let you in, you’re shaking, i think you have been taking narcotics” (in the middle of the winter when wearing a short sleeve shirt)

“Sorry not tonight” – Why? “you’re dressed like a cunt” (Blu Bambu, thanks to a visitor for letting us know this one!)

“No Trainers/White Shoes/other clothing”

“Sorry its a 21″

“Sorry, no rockports” (and a girl walks past wearing rockport boots

“Sorry no —insert any brand name here—”

“I Think you’re drunk, can you say the alphabet backwards….”

Just a small selection of what you have sent in or what i have heard over the years :D

The most notorious places in Newcastle for not letting people in for no reason without a doubt is Blu Bambu. I am amazed they have any visitors left (although its getting less and less) since they seem to reject people for no reason; and if you do get in i think you will be disapointed. They have been riding the wave of success for a while, however that wave is slowly crashing down on themselves as people go to other, better clubs. Other places, like Liquid Envy, will check you for tatoos. Perdu, Revolution and Floritas also get picky at times, for no reason at all other than they can be….They dont really understand that its seen as a major offence not letting customers in who have chosen to spend their money in their place, but they soon learn this when the queues disapear almost faster than their profits…Apartment was rebranded as Floritas and their main selling point was “there is no VIP, everyone is welcome”…At least they did learn a valuable lesson.
