Shindig Saturday At World Headquarters

shindig-22-8-09

Shindig returns this Saturday night (tomorrow) at its new home, World Headquarters. I HATE WHQ, worst nightclub in Newcastle in my opinion. That is because i have always hated the music it plays on a Saturday night, and didnt really like the crowd much. On a ‘normal’ night it costs £8 to get in, and as my friends put it “yeah its expensive to get in but then the drinks are cheap”…But how many drinks do you have while clubbing? Not many, as you have been drinking all night.

Anyway, WHQ is the new home for Shindig since its departure from Digital. Reasons it left were musical differences, Its not the first time Shindig or other events have threatened to leave Newcastle’s biggest nightclub. The biggest problem with a big space is filling it. If you charge lots of money and have two events on a week then you will find (as they have) people are not going to spend their money going to all the events.

Line up

DENNIS FERRER
SCOTT BRADFORD
NEIL BAINBRIDGE
DOWNSTAIRS:
SOLID GROOVE SOCIAL CLUB
PAUL T (BREAD & CIRCUS)

WHQ has a smaller capacity, so will be easier to fill, and therefore create a better atmosphere.

Doors open at 22.30 and the place is open until 04.00 tickets are £10 and more on the door.

Another thing i hate about the place is the location…miles away from anything. If you dont know where it is point your drunk sat-nav to:

Battle of The Clubs: Tup Tup vs Digital

nightclub1

There is one bank holiday left, and two of the biggest clubs have both got a big night of house planned on Sunday 30th August.

Digital is bringing you superstar DJ Steve Angello, and a night of house at Newcastle’s biggest nightclub. Digital is renouned for getting in good crowds of people who love to club.

Tup Tup Palace is hosting Hed Kandi, a big player in the Funky House scene.

A night in Digital will cost you alot of money, but you are paying to go and see a big name DJ and to have a great night clubbing. A night in Tup Tup Palace will get you cheaper entry, but no big name DJ, and less of a ‘dj event clubbing’ atmosphere. Digital will have hardcore clubbers and house fans, whereas Tup Tup will house the ra’s and pretentious people.

Who will be getting your hard earned pouds on BH Sunday?

Steve Angello at Digital Newcastle August Bank Holiday

digital-newcastle

Swedish House Mafia have a residency in Ibiza this year which we have already told you about here but Steve Angello will also be headlining at Digital Newcastle on Sunday 30th August, Bank Holiday weekend.

Doors open at 23.00 and you can party all night until 03.30. Advance booking is £10+bf and expect to pay more on the door.

So you’re probably looking at £12-15 on the door. If you can afford this and like house i would reccommend going. It is set to be a great night.

I hope MR Angello makes his flight back to Ibiza, since he is set to play there on the Monday :D
