Doda Elektroda Polish Popstar

Posted by NewcastleVIP on January 27, 2009

I was watching VIVA Polska a few days ago, and i noticed a popstar called Doda, or Doda Elektroda as she is sometimes known. Her song Nej Die Sie is great, and she is amazingly hot.

Not only hot, but a member of MENSA with an IQ score of 156! She was a former vocalist in a Polish band called “Virgin” and is now a solo artist.

Lady Gaga – Just Dance still #1 UK

She has made it 3 weeks at number 1, Lady Gaga with Just Dance. This is despite the song being months and months old, i first saw her perform this live back in September at The Dome. Strange how the U.S star has taken so long to break into the UK.

Kat DaLuna has been kicking around for longer, and she is yet to make a breakthrough in the UK despite selling well in the U.S and the rest of europe.

Destination Bar Shot Girl – You’d Be Helping me out

Posted by NewcastleVIP on January 25, 2009

So i was in Destination Bar the other Saturday, and got harrassed by the shot girl :D She kept me talking for 3-4 minutes about how i would really be helping her out if i bought a shot from her. The first “no thanks” didnt seem to wash, but i wont buy a shot because i felt sorry for her.

So i go out to a bar where i spend money, the bar isnt happy that i am in their place spending my cash so i have to be persuaded to spend more?? I hadnt seen destination do this before, but i guess desperate times must call for desperate measures.

Cocktails – Sorry We’re too busy

You have to love the staff in the place, ask them for a cocktail and if the person who serves you doesnt know how to make them you get their standard answers of “we dont sell cocktails when its busy/tonight”…Thats strange, because the place was empty and i got one a few weeks back. hmmm…..

Linekers Newcastle Bar Opens Saturday

Posted by NewcastleVIP on January 20, 2009

Linekers Newcastle Bar opens this Saturday. Linekers has several locations all over the Med in places like Ibiza, Tenerife and Alcudia.

It is located at 55 Degrees North, aka the old “Box” bar/club. They are giving away free shots and champagne on opening night, to bring in the people. When it was “The Box” this had a huge space and there could have done alot with it, however a huge space makes a bar look deserted if you cant fill it.

Linekers may change the interior, layout and such. We will just have to wait until Saturday 24th January to find out.

With comments from internet users such as “Absolute dumps in Spain !! Filthy stale beer smell throughout the day.” It has to deliver something great to be recognised as a top venue in Newcastle.

Did you go?

If you have been to Linekers Bar Newcastle please let me know what you thought :)

Quiet in Newcastle on Saturday Night

Posted by NewcastleVIP on January 9, 2009

The first Saturday night of 2009 in Newcastle was a quiet one.  The usual bars, Baby Lynch’s, Floritas, 1. Grey Street were all pretty quiet, more so than usual. The Lodge was also quiet, it is usually very busy in there despite it being a poor bar. There were no queues in sight in the ever popular Revolution, but had a few people in. What a shame for Perdu, which was quiet. I guess they must have turned one too many people away :D

Will the bars survive the credit crunch? The Sports Cafe has already closed down near the end of last year. Will there be any others biting the dust?
